Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), The honoring ceremony for 700 female Quran reciters and memorizers was held on June 8, in the city of Balikesir in Turkey.
According to beyazgazete website, the ceremony which was attended by religious officials and over 3000 citizens started with Quran recitation, followed by Quran memorizers receiving their certificates.
The ceremony was held on the occasion of the year 2010 as the Year of the Holy Quran in Turkey.
Having passed the memorization course in mosques and religious centers, female Quran learners received a certificate issued by the country’s Religion Affairs Department, along with some precious awards.
Other programs included the performance of religious songs, distribution of 5000 guiding booklets about the holy Quran, and speeches by a number of religious and political officials.
